Abstract

La seccional de Cali del Servicio de Erradicación de Malaria SEM ha suministrado los siguientes datos correspondientes al mes de abril de 1971, y que se refieren solo al valle geográfico del Río Cauca en el Departamento del Valle. De 3190 gotas gruesas recibidas se encontraron 21 casos positivos, 9 de los cuales habían adquirido la infección en los siguientes lugares: Jamundí y Tuluá, 3 casos de Plasmodium falciparum; Candelaria, Andalucia, Zarzal, Florida y La Victoria, 6 casos de Plasmodium Vivax.
