Migrañas: fisiopatología y tratamiento.
Abstract
Aproximadamente 6% de los hombres y 18% de las mujeres sufren de migrañas. Las investigaciones sugieren que en las migrañas existe un estado de hipersensibilidad del sistema nervioso, al parecer, genéticamente determinado. Se presentan los factores desencadenantes y la liberación de neuropéptidos, prostaglandinas, histamina y serotonina que estimulan las terminaciones sensitivas del trigémino y producen el dolor. Se revisan los objetivos del manejo, las medidas de prevención y los fármacos más usados para el tratamiento sintomático de las migrañas.Authors
