Infecciones neuroquirúrgicas
Abstract
Entre enero de 1980 y marzo de 1982, se atendieron en el Servicio de Neurocirugía del Hospital Universitario del Valle, Cali, Colombia, 70 pacientes con problemas infecciosos que comprometían el sistema nervioso central y/o estructuras adyacentes. Se encontraron abscesos, empiemas, osteomielitis, meningitis agudas no virales, postquirúrgicas y postraumáticas. Mediante el análisis de 40 casos y una revisión de la literatura, se plantean pautas para el estudio y manejo médico-quirúrgico de este tipo de patología.
