Abstract
Los registros del Hospital Universitario del Valle (HUV) en Cali, durante 10 años, 1969-1978. muestran que hubo 79.9 nacimeintos y 358 muertes maternas, es decir una tasa de mortalidad materna de 4.47 por 1000 nacidos vivos. Este estudio establece la infección como la causa principal de muerte.
