A Conference for the Development of a Consensus on Antenatal Diagnosis was held at the State Institutes of Health (INS) of the United States of North America. The conference had the purpose of evaluating the conditions of the various techniques used in prenatal diagnosis; the legal, ethical, social and economic implications of its use; the appropriate applications of these techniques today; and the need to continue researching its use.
