H-Y antigen and primary sex determination
Main Article Content
The primary determination of sex in mammals appears under the control of locus H-Y by the activity of its antigen H-Y. Testicular organization depends more on the antigen in the gonads than on the presence of the Y chromosome. It is thus important to determine the antigen in sexual maldefinitions to confirm the presence of the testes.
