Postmortem alcohol levels in medical-legal autopsies in Cali, 1986

This paper documents the high incidence of significant blood alcohol levels in traffic casualties and violent deaths occurring in Cali, Colombia. Of the total cases, 31% had blood alcohol levels greater than 50 mg, according to a micro diffusion method. The need for educative campaigns and more effective policive control measures are emphasized.
