To identify the frequency of asymptomatic urinary abnormality indicators, 2,349 students were screened using the Combur-9-test reactive tape. Microscopic urine analysis was done twice for the subjects with one or more positive parameters in the screening test. Students with positive indicators were referred to the nephrologist to confirm the diagnoses and initiate the appropriate treatment. The prevalence of the asymptomatic urinary abnormality was 7.9%. The more frequent indicators were: proteinuria associated with hematuria, leucocituria and bacteriuria, 25.8%; leucocituria and bacteriuria, 17.2%; leucocituria, 16.7%; proteinuria, 15.6%; hematuria, 14%; proteinuria and hematuria, 10.7%
